Some Little Things I am Noticing

I probably am slow about this, and others may have even written articles or posts about it, but here goes. In the evening I often see "discussions" that are only ads for business services. The user name is usually the name of the business. Of course, I report it. I have no problem with that. Where I do have a problem deciding if I should report or not is when a user gives a lead in that is interesting, but you get to the discussion and said user has posted a link to their own blog. No discussion really. Just "Hi, my article is about this and you will learn a lot" I suppose those need to be reported as well. Right?

I think the line on that one is when the link enhances the discussion or adds to it in some way. For example, a user who is having trouble with a blog layout should share the link so we might help troubleshoot it. I'd also consider something like a person linking to their blog to share photos appropriate, since we're limited to one in a discussion. But something that exists only to direct people to the blog... Nope. There needs to be substance to engage readers here.

@yukimori this was not a discussion at all, only a direction to go and read the blog. There is a way, btw, to include more pictures. You can put a picture with each response you make to a comment. Unless I am wrong, and if so I will hear about it, because I put another picture in each response in my cloud discussion.

@GardenGerty Oh, I know. Sometimes I prefer to just have the entire gallery linked, though, and I'm too lazy to put a bunch of pictures into one file so it can be uploaded with the discussion. I'm finding it way too easy to lose comments with this format, anyway...

Hey GardenGerty! As our fellow Some Guy Typing have said, yes, it should be reported. We should avoid this kind of discussions, used to promote other websites or something like that. I know that, since we're all earning a few bucks online, it gets hard to avoid these subjects. But we should turn it into an interesting share of ideas, and not simply a referring system. MyLot is a great community and we all appreciate your effort on making it even better! Regards!

If it's their own site, I think I would report it. If it's another website that they're not affiliated with, I don't think I would.

I think they should be reported. Not because it is spam but it also hurts our stream. And most of such discussion end up making the site less interesting. And in turn less people joining this place. Though down fall of Bubblws has brought some people back in here but still I'd report such spammers.

I have wondered about posting our blog links, too. I wonder when or if it is allowed?

I haven't spent enough time here to notice and have no idea how to report anyway, is there a button?

Personally I would also report those. I haven't noticed about what time of day these spammy discussions come up, but yeah I'd report anything like that.
