Card making and other creative activities

My mother-in-law used to make cards. Some time ago she decided that she didn't want to make cards anymore and she gave me the things that she didn't need anymore. I received several large boxes full of paper, stickers, ribbons, glue, scissors etc. In the past I made my own cards, but I haven't made cards for a long time. When we finish renovating our new house I will start making cards again. I have lots of materials, and I don't have to buy anything at all. I look forward to getting started again.
I also like to draw and paint. Most of my paintings are a mix of paint and pictures from old magazines. I create my own techniques and I love to experiment. Sometimes I make papercuts and I have also done some decoupage. I like to knit and I am working on a blanket at the moment.
Do you like creative activities? Which creative activities do you enjoy?

You will be busy once you get your house done.
I like to oil paint, but I have not done this in years.
Perhaps one day I may do it again.
Until then, I will just remember haha

It will be very nice to spend my time on creative activites again
I have never used oil paint. I always use acrylics, but I would like to try oil paint in the future so that I can compare them

@TiarasOceanView I don't use water colors much. I have experimented with them in the past, but I didn't really like the result. I still have water colors, but I haven't used them for a long time. My former mother-in-law used oil paint too, and she made very beautiful paintings. What kind of oil paintings do you do - realistic (figurative) or abstract?

@Porcospino There is something just so perfect for me using oils. I am not fond of water colors tho I do have them.

Writing is a creative activity, too. What do you write? I am trying to write a book, but recently I have been too busy with other activities. My mother-in-law used to make very cute home made cards with pets etc. I haven't made cards for a long time, but I want to start again.

@Porcospino I'm currently writing a book too, a social history of the old town swimming baths that closed in 1966. Sounds boring, but it's actually fascinating.

@valmnz I don't think that it sounds boring. I am interested in history, and I like to read stories about the way that my local area looked in the past. I often visit a local website with stories and pictures from the past.

writing and poetry are my only areas of creative ability - my art, music, crochet, skills, etc., are non-existent

I am sorry to hear that. My mother has the same problem. She used to knit a lot, but because of her arthritis she is not able to do it anymore.

@Porcospino It is a shame that we can't do our hobbies like we used to. It was so much fun to be able to knit.
