To Be or Not To Be Deleted

I decided that I would look through my archive at that other site and see if I wanted to delete some old posts. I specifically wanted to delete any creative writing like flash fiction. What a task. There are pages and pages of posts, and I don't want to delete anything after the date that I last requested payment. I figured I wouldn't give them any reason to say it reduced my requested payment. My goodness, 1863 posts is a lot to look through. And as I see them, and sometimes remember them, I wish to take them back but I don't know why. I can't re-use them. They were the thoughts of that day, not today's thoughts. I can't borrow my feelings of the past and paste them up as if they were new. They belong to the day they were written. I don't know what I am going to do about the other site yet. I want my payment. I don't want to u se these posts elsewhere and yet, I want my words. I just have no use for them. What are you doing? Delete or not delete? Wait and see? Stalk off in rightfully-felt anger? Stick around until the very end? To be or not to be? Is that even the question?

I'm not deleting anything from the other place and I visit there once a day. Being the eternal optimist I'm always hoping for a resurgence there

If they made payments and worked on the speed of loading of pages, they could see a lot of people continue on there. But will they?

@Rollo1 Will they? Will they do anything "intelligent" to keep the site going? That's the question of the day.

I agree with you Marilyn - while the site is there, so will I be.

I certainly won't delete - I have no need to as I've got all mine saved elsewhere. Mind you I've only got just over 300. I'm still hopeful for the site anyway.

I gave up writing them in a word document or whatever and for the last year or so, I have been typing directly into the screen. I don't do edits anymore, don't care that much since they didn't pay me.

I'm getting ready to reach final payout. I have 19.09 to go. So I'm going to see if I can kick it in overdrive and see what happens. Now that I have my writing abilities flowing back (because of the time of year). I will hang out there until the end probably.

I redeemed in June and no payment yet. I really was determined to get there again, but then, it started to dawn on me that there's no point in making another 50 if they don't pay the first 50.

@Rollo1 Yes, I understand that. I think Horse said that he got his payment from 40 days ago. Although I'm not sure on the time frame.

You seem to be a prolific writer! Some writings lose their relevance with time, but still you cant abandon them!

I do like to read them again, even if only to revisit days and times in my life.

For now my words can remain hidden in obscurity where they are. Like you I have no use for them, unlike the words I've written on other sites.

Personal thoughts on any given day belong to the day, and not necessarily to posterity. It's sad to lose the memories, though.

I made copies of all my posts a long time ago, so my big issue with deleting posts has been the fact that I wanted to save some of the better comments, though I believe many are missing now. I already deleted some of my most personal posts months ago, but couldn't be bothered to finish the job. I'd like to do it though, even if there are a lot of posts I can't use. I just can't see myself ever getting money from them again, and it's starting to sound like nobody will.

I stopped bothering to make copies, I decided to take my chances. I do regret the great comments missing from the older posts. That's just annoying to me.

@Rollo1 I'm annoyed about the comments too, but the copies are important to me. A lot of my old posts are useless, but I'm sure that I can find ideas in some that can be reused.

I have deleted quite a few already. It takes for ever. Personally, I think I will never get the money. I still go there once in a while.

I'm not sure what I am going to do yet. I haven't tried to redeem recently so I don't have to worry about that. I guess when I have the time, I will delete them.

I redeemed in June, so I don't want to delete something that they think alters my earnings. It's a hard decision.

@Rollo1 I can understand. It really is a hard decision, especially since it started taking so long to redeem. It's hard to know how far back to go.

I am deleting some, if I can ever get to them, because I want to rewrite and reuse, and I don't want to lose them if the site goes titanic.

@Jessicalynnt If I didn't have an outstanding redemption, that is what I would do. Just start at the most recent and keep going. I suppose I could do that back to June, but then I need to leave the ones from January to June. It's complicated.

@Rollo1 I figured I'd start with the most recent and start deleting. Yeah I have nine dollars sitting there, but really, am I ever going to make it to 50? I really doubt it.

I don't think anyone is minding the store. I wouldn't count on it being deleted unless you do something to get yourself reported. Then they will ban you. Executions are allowed, defections are not.

I just leave my posts as they are everywhere.. I did remove stuff like poetry and creative writing on B and another site.. But I have not done that with Hubpages or any of the other sites I used to write in.

Off topic: I mentioned two members in my last post. Will they be informed about this? I put a ' & 'in front of their names but the names aren't highlighted like on bubblews.

I don't care as much as you do. When my first account was deleted for whatever reason (nobody has ever told me), all the posts I had hitherto written disappeared, too. I could have wept but I decided to forget them. I'm only afraid of posting them another time without realising it. I'm a recycler of old posts from other sites. I didn't make a list of the texts I had posted so this could happen.

In a way, you're lucky yours were deleted, but you weren't lucky to lose out on your earnings. I still don't know why they deleted you the first time. So weird.
