The cat is out of the bag

I spent some time in the 'explore' category and found one of my posts there after almost 160 activities. Why would anyone go that deep to respond to my post is what I have now discovered. And that explains why I do not get many responses. It is not because my posts are not worth anything. And this must be the situation for many here.
There has to be a better way to see that justice is done.
I think posts should have a category when searching becomes easy.

What is the point then having people and explore tabs?

@allknowing Try reading my Tutorial. It explains briefly what each one does which may help you understand what they are useful for.

The issue here is for others to find my post. How do I know how they go about finding posts.

I am not clear what you are saying. Which filter were you using in 'Explore'? What do you mean by 'after almost 160 activities'? I don't believe that Scar ( @PhredWreck 's little black cat who is the most active feline here) has ever been in the bag!
Everyone is likely to have a different list in the 'Interesting' filter, because everyone will have a different set of tags they have used. The other filters are as I describe in my tutorial pages - 'Top Rated' is driven by the Responses (and Likes) a discussion has (and, I think, by the date of the discussion, too), while 'Hot' is driven by the amount of activity a discussion has had recently, so these two are often very similar. The other filters should be self-evident.
Your posts are also visible to your followers in the 'People' tab, when they view your Profile.and when they search on any of the tags you have used.

@allknowing I have 'Most Recent' set as my Home Page and I saw your post there. My 'Interesting' filter is not a lot of use to me because the tags I have used most often go back to a period when moderation was not very good and I used 'reported' and 'spam' rather a lot. Unfortunately, it is far from simple (I am told) to clear them so that one can start afresh!

@owlwings You are there more or less during my time there with just 4 hours difference and that is why you got my post. My posts will not be found by those whose time zone is almost 12 hours from mine, unless they go to my profile in which case the purpose of 'people' and 'explore' is defeated.

@owlwings Yes! That's what I always wanted to ask - do you get all the 'reported' and 'spam' posts in your interesting category?
When I asked you I didn't known that yet... but now, well enjoy your time!

Well if people like your posts and follow you then they can go to the people tab and likely have a lot easier time finding recent posts by you then if they just looked through the explore tab. There are different things under the explore tab such as interesting and most recent. I usually like to go with the most recent and work my way down if I am not using the people tab.

You will find my posts in the recent tab under 'explore' if you are there around the time I am there but not if you have opened the tab say after 12 hours of my being there. And that could be the reason why my followers do not access my posts. The only way we can ensure getting into posts of members that we follow is to go to their profiles.

If you are looking under Interesting on the Explore tab, then you are seeing discussions that are suggested by the tags you use most. Those are the discussions that should be interesting to you based on what you write about. I go to People and use Discussions to find my friends' discussions.

I wll have to do the same and in fact I do that sometimes if I do not want to miss posts of some of my followers and those following me. The explore and people even with the use of a filter is still a messy thing.
