Would you allow a disability to define you?

I work with a girl who has ADD, she literally can't do or finish a job she takes a fit and then acts like a child. Again I think this comes back to her parents, and how they raised her. I have multiple disabilities, and I don't let them define me or get in the way of my job. I am almost legally blind yet I've been told I have done a job better than someone with perfect vision. I was raised that way, and if you give up you wont get anything noone will hand it to you. The girl at work just wanted me to do it, and I refused too. I don't care if you have a disability so do I. Take as much time to finish the job.

I was suffering from stress during college which was causing my symptoms from my head injury to come flowing back like mad. I was in a lot of pain everyday until I figured out how to reduce the stress. My grades were flagging a bit, but I never used my condition to get special treatment. Although I did confess that I never healed to my parents to get them from giving me more stress because I was at the breaking point. I still managed to graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Several years later I got a MS in Environmental Management with much better grades because I learned how to control stress. It does get in the way a lot, but I am used to being in pain so I just get through it.
