I love this little tree.. I have always wanted one.. but it has been hard to propagate it from cuttings as it is usually done. I have followed the seven day scaring and potting but it never worked for me. It has been quite expensive to buy these as potted plants too. Finally I did get a good deal today and i have a frangipani of my own. Its not the classic white with the yellow center, Its a pink a deep pink which I have always wanted. This is a new addition to me terrace garden. I also love the very mild fragrance of the blooms. I need one more tree on my terrace that would be the moringa or the miracle tree as its popularly called. Do you like the frangipani?

It is a pretty plant. I myself prefer the yellow and white over the pink. Looking at the two pictures, they look to be different plants entirely.

@TexanTornado They are the same kind I guess the pink flowers look different because it hasn't opened out fully in the picture. I love the classic white.. but you know my partiality to pink. Don't you? Besides I don't want a common tree here.. I'd rather have the rare ones. I just saw a deep maroon on my drive into the city today. It looked very pretty but the flowers don't show up so well as the white or the lighter pinks.

@TexanTornado You are right about the shape of the petals there is the teeny weeny pointing tip.. but when it unfold you may not notice it that much. There is also a deep red Malaysian variety.. I have n't seen too many of them here.. I have I guess in one of the main city parks.

@sofssu Yes, you are probably right. But it does make each look more unique. Now see I could go for a deep red. And yes, I think I would be the same as you. I would want something more rare, more unique.

I love frangipani. I grew up in Africa where they where everywhere - there are none in Ireland.

@xFiacre People who know this three love it. Ireland is way to cold for this deciduous tree, I guess.

I have never so much as heard of this tree, let alone seen one. Very pretty, very exotic.

@Rollo1 Its actually a little more than a bush.. and just before the flowering season all the leaves drop off and there are only flowers on the bare branches. Its a beautiful sight to see. I used to wear them on my hair as a kid.

First time ever I see a frangipani. It is lovely. Does it grow only in warmer countries?

@marlina Yes, It is a common tree in the tropical nd subtropical regions of Asia. It belongs to the same family of trees and the dogbane. Its botanical name is Pulmeria.

Those small trees are beautiful, I love the flowers, white with a yellow center. I am not sure I can grow a Plumeria (frangipani) in my country, I believe they need a warmer temperature.

@LadyDuck I have seen some pictures of these trees growing in French gardens. Maybe it could grow in Italy too.

The name sounds so exotic, but I don't think it grows in England.
