When I was a teen a group of us used to go up to the old military cemetery up in the foothills at the edge of town. We spent time up there looking at tomb stones. Late at night it was spooky out there and there was a legend of this guy that escaped from the looney bin and stayed up a cave over looking the cemetery. He carried a hatchet and we heard several different stories. That he killed people. One night we went up there and a car pulled in about the same time. It was two college girls. It seems that the one girl, who was from back east, had had a bad dream. She dreamt of this very cemetery and had spoken out in her sleep about three names of military men that were buried there. The other girl lived around here and knew about the military cemetery. They told us the names and we helped them look. Sure enough about the second row in were these names on three tomb stones. I have always wondered about that story. Was the one girl really from back east and knew nothing of this cemetery? How did she know these three names? Do you have urban legends in your area like mine about the Hatchet Man?
