A former governmental Science Minister, is merely rekindling, an argument, put forward by Nikola Tesla, many moons ago...something that was buried by 'commercial energy investors and magnates' even then, just as it will always be, by Big Commerce, with vested interest, only in making money, regardless of benefits to public or world ecology. The former minister, Lord Drayson, (yes, he got a Lordship out of it) "claims that a technology called Freevolt can be the power source for the "internet of things", allowing low energy devices from wearables to sensors to operate without being plugged in." Strangely close to poor ole' Tesla's argument, for which he was made a 'laughing stock' and quietly buried beneath the graveyard of Commerce.....so let's see if this makes the 'Real' light of day, avoiding gov. pressure groups, all about holding countries to ransom! source:bbc.co.uk

There have been many viable suggestions that have been laughed at and finally put in place some decades later. I saw a car operating solely by solar power on the television program "Tomorrow's World" back in the 1960s, yet it is only the past couple of year's that it has received much attention.

@Asylum WOW...that rakes up a few memories, and the odd worrying thought,like,..am I really so old!...but I loved that programme and Raymond ?whatshisname's presentation of it ,unlike some of the presenters of some of today's, Docujungle, where many of the 'Professors' appear to be almost teenagers..also indicative of age!

@bookbar I cannot remember the presenter, but always looked forward to the program. It was almost a science fiction in many ways, with the exception that it was reality.

It is not in the government's best interests for people to have free energy. Just in taxes and regulations and licensing, they lose money. But they also lose power over the individual, which to them is much much worse.

@Rollo1 Also their massive 'party contributions' from 'overpowered' Energy companies and their minions, could be something of an influencing factor, ....as with Big Pharma..government is one huge exercise in 'Dirty Business'...

I believe I already left a comment about this. Up in the mountain, in a tiny Swiss villages, people have demonstrated that neon bulbs lighted without being plugged due to the high voltage pylons recently installed near their village. This is of course the Tesla effect.
