Crocheted another soap saver

My crocheted soap saver

I attended a soap making class two months ago, and now I can finally use the soap I made. I crocheted a soap saver last month, and found that I need to crochet more. I just crocheted another smaller soap saver, as I have cut my soap into smaller pieces. It's so nice to use what we made ourselves - the soap and the soap saver. Do you make your own soap?

I have made soap in the past, but what is that for? Is that for transporting the soap in case you go somewhere?

It can be transporting the soap. But, currently I just use it to keep the soap, and use it to massage while applying the soap. After I have used this, it doesn't seem to be very good to keep the soap.

@Pattitude To keep in different soap saver over the time? It's actually quite nice for massage, but the soap stick to the soap saver when it's wet, so it doesn't seem to server the purpose of "save the soap". I wonder if I have used it wrongly.....

I wish I could make my own soap. If I have opportunity, I will also attend soap making class. Your soap saver is so cute. I admire your skillful hands my friend.

Thank you. This soap saver isn't difficult to make. I just learned how to crochet not long ago, via Internet. So, you should be able to do it, if you wish. Making soap is fun, hope you'll get a chance to try that too.

@salonga I am not a patient person too. But learning to do handwork really helps to be more patient.

@kaka135 Okay I will try one time. I just don't have the patience perhaps.

Since you are pregnant, you might as well stop making soap. The chemical is not good for your health. You have the skill now, so you can make many soaps in the future, just not now when the health of you and your baby is more important.

Thanks for your concern. Actually there are no chemicals used in making soap at home, just oil and lye. I have read that lye is actually a natural product.

Funny , but i expect your last sentence as can you crochet , not do you make your own soap. But to making my own soap , never . But to crocheting , i learned how to , in my elementary days and can still to the very basic one .

Perhaps because in my mind at that time, I was thinking about soap making, but not crocheting. So in your country, there are many people knitting or crocheting? How nice it is. It's not a popular activity here in Malaysia at all. When I was crocheting or knitting in the park while watching my children playing, many other kids were wondering what the yarn is. Many have not seen a ball of yarn before.... not to say the knitting needles or crochet hook.

No, I don't make my own soap, but in the past I have crocheted soap savers for a gal who does and sells her wares online. After I made some for her I made some more and put them in my etsy shop including a bar of soap with them. I didn't have a bit of luck selling any though.

It looks so cute, I never crocheted a soap saver myself, but it sounds to be a great idea.

It can be used as a pouch to keep anything too. I made one for keeping the soap, but my little girl just took it to keep her things.

Yes I make my own soap and it is a tradition in the extended family that we make batches of soaps as gifts for each other
