Yes is a comment

I love that people take the time to comment on silly and probably insignificant writings on this site . . . even stating a "YES" is a valid comment. Some people ask questions, some leave a note for thought . . . . Leave them your YES - its a comment too! Do you agree??

I was very tempted to leave a single word comment of "No", but decided against it. We all find that some posts are easy to comment on while others would be difficult to respond to. It does not even depend on quality at times because reading what you refer to as an "insignificant writing" can immediately bring something to mind while some fascinating posts leave little left for us to input.

No. But if I just say no I am agreeing with your suggestion, therefore it has to be yes! But now this comment contradicts the suggestion and therefore a yes is contrary. Oh I am confused!!! Can we have an easier question please?

@Inlemay A comment makes you feel that you've connected with someone and you aren't just shouting into the wind. So yes, even a yes (or a no) is most worthwhile and valuable and makes me feel loved.

I read something by goaskalice saying one liners are valid discussions as long as they are meaningful.. If just or could be a valid response 'Yes' is even better. I guess we just need to accept things they are and move on.

I can see both sides of this, but simply do my best to try to have responses that are a bit longer, I don't want anyone to lose funds because I was short!

Maybe some additional explanation would do. Like explain why YES or why NO

Comment is your response and not a simple nod.

May be under certain circumstances where yes would be the only appropriate comment or may be a no too Having said that may be the topic itself could be brought down where it does not generate a discussion.

I would imagine it would be if they were answering a simple question. This is, afterall, a discussion site so leaving a yes would ultimately defeat the whole discussion purpose.

@InIemy,I don't think simply a 'yes' is a valid comment.'Yes' means you agree with what is asked to you in the discussion. You need to say something about why you say 'yes.' in order to make it a valid comment.

I don't think that a no or a yes is a comment at all.

Knowing what someone thinks is never as interesting or as important as knowing why they think it - so, for me, "Yes" isn't a satisfactory comment.

Right, yes is a comment for me. If you are asked to answer yes or no. or if the question is only answerable by a yes or no.However, if you are asked to expound on it then you should. It can even be a maybe if he's not sure. Butt if you would wish to expound it yourself without being ask then do so.

Yes and no are not enough for me. I think that interaction means more than that. Just imagine if I had just said "no". No what?
