Do you eat more when you go to an eat-all-you-can buffet?

I tend to eat a lot more food when it is an eat-all-you-can buffet? I know it is not good for health to eat so much food at one go, but that is a rare occasion, and the buffet does not come cheap. I will try to stuff myself till my stomach almost burst.

I like all you can eats though it isn't something to use too often. Many do offer salad bar selections though most diners will tend to pig out on the fattening sweet stuff. I watched two kids recently at one greedily getting about 10 puddings each - they were probably quite ill afterwards

Those kids are not as savvy as those working adults. The adults will eat more oysters, and seafood. They will go for more expensive food, such as sushi and sashimi, and not go for puddings. I think the kids are stupid to eat so many puddings. Their parents should not allow them to do so.

@scheng1 yes I tend to go for the more expensive choices I would expect to pay more for if ordered in an ordinary restaurant. I love sushi.

No, I don't overeat when I go to a buffet. It's actually not worth it for me, because I don't eat much no matter where I go, so I really don't get my money's worth. The only reason I like buffets is because I can try a little bit of everything, instead of being limited to ordering one dish.

That is a good habit. I know many people go for the expensive food, and leave out the cheaper food. They go for lobster, live oyster, and other seafood. They will avoid fruits because fruits are cheap. Event though they get their value back, but their body will suffer from such indulgence.

We don't go out to eat often, but when we do its usually a buffet because everyone in my family eats such different things and that is one place that everyone can find something they like. I ALWAYS eat too much when we go. WAY to much. I have left the buffet before feeling sick because I ate more than I should have.

i know the feeling though I seldom experience it. One of my friends are very experienced in dealing with buffet. She forced me to go hill climbing for an hour before the buffet. By the time we reach the hotel, we are tired, hungry and thirsty. During the buffet, she asked for many slices of lemons so that we can put all the lemons in water to wash down the food.

Not really. I don't think so. I may TRY to eat more. But my stomach is only so big. And I don't want to be uncomfortable. I just want to make sure I get my money's worth.
