I Love Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Flavors

Tonight's guilty pleasure is maple walnut ice cream with chocolate sauce. It was either that or butter pecan. I find that if I eat what I really want, then I don't eat everything else. I have a rule that I don't stand in line for ice cream cones. So most of the time, I can't get a cone.
I only buy ice cream when it's on sale and less than $2 a half-gallon. That keeps me off the sauce most days. But today the ice cream was on sale and I had a coupon. So I am in ice cream bliss tonight.
I know it looks like a lot of ice cream, but I use a very small dish.

It was. I have to admit that I am quite full and would like to give the rest to someone else so that I'm not tempted.

@NeldaHoxie It is, it was very popular in Italy when I was a kid and now it is back in the supermarkets.

I have never seen hazlenut ice cream in the US. It does sound delicious.

I am for old flavours myself. Nowadays there are several icecream desserts, very expensive. I like to make my own, with fruit, icecream and homemade sauce.

fruit and ice cream are a favorite combination. I love fresh strawberries and ice cream
Now I want to buy some when I get paid on Thursday.

I always rationalize that I get an entire half-gallon for less money than many people pay for one ice cream cone.

@NeldaHoxie Funny how our bodies start rejecting things isn't it! I use mostly soy or almond milk now.

I know how you feel. I have to limit my ice cream and dairy. As I've gotten older, it doesn't agree with me.

Yeah, just like you, I also love ice cream of old-fashioned flavors. Though more and more new flavors of ice cream appear in the market, I still choose old-fashioned ones when I enter a supermarket. Enjoying old-fashioned flavors recall me of those happy memories in the past.
