Lost Dog

This afternoon I met a friend for coffee at our local shopping centre. While we were there chatting away I noticed a small dog running in and out of the centre. When she came back a second time my friend and I went outside to see if she was ok. It looked as if she was pregnant or had just given birth. Soon a small crowd of shoppers had gathered around to watch the dog which was becoming quite stressed. So I rang up the Ranger who came down to rescue the dog, unfortunately before he arrived the dog had run off and couldn't be found. Hopefully the dog found its way back home to its owner and they are now reunited. The thing I noticed was the reaction of the shoppers. Some were very upset about the dog and seemed to need to talk about their feelings. One man was walking up and down the talking about the dog to anybody who would listen. Not to be rude, but I did think he was a bit of an attention seeker. Another person was looking for a bowl to fill with water for the dog who didn't want to come close to us. Everybody seemed to care what might happen to this dog and were rather concerned about its welfare .For a moment we were all together as a community in wanting the best outcome as possible for the dog. I still haven't heard anything so we just have to hope/

Poor dog, I hope he/she is okay! Quite rare for a dog to be wandering around like that, I'm sure the dog was distressed about something.

I think she had somehow become lost and couldn't find her owners. It is true we seldom seem wandering dogs anymore

It is sad when an animal appears lost like that. Though sometimes maybe an animal can look after itself better than we imagine. Hopefully the dog and its owner were eventually reunited.

Poor little dog, too many people around have surely scared her. I hope she found her way back home.

@LadyDuck We can only hope Anna. I drove slowly along the way that the dog probably took and there was no sign of her.I think she just got frightened and when on her own may have found her owners.

Not everyday does one get to see this and that's why those people were talking, and everyone wanted what's best for the sweet dog.
