Are Doctors Really That Incompetent

I am due my second hormone injection for my medical condition and surprise surprise, I rang up my doctor and the receptionist stated they have not received any prescription letter from the hospital yet informing them of my due injections! The doctor stated he/she will ring me back within the next hour as I have work at 4pm so can not talk after 4pm. Lets see if the doctor can actually ring me as promised to sort this out as it is vital I get the hormone injection on the second day of my period (tomorrow) .

As do I but sometimes you have to call them back if you don't hear from them.

It sounds as if you are having to deal with two different institutions. They aren't always very communicative between the two. I hope it gets sorted. Did you stress to the person you talked to that you needed the shot tomorrow?

That's quite unprofessional of them. There should be systems in place that would avoid such a gaffe at the hands of the doctors. Hopefully you've got your injection and do reprimand them for such carelessness.

I do hope they call you back when they said they would but depends on the hospital. Fortunately I have a good doctor who called me about the tests I had last week with good news. My doctor is really good here and I am so happy that I picked her as she always does what she says she will do.

I hope they get you scheduled in time. Will you have to start over if they get the timing wrong?

The doctor I go to the nurse takes care of all that. I would call back before you have to leave for work and tell them how vital this is. As if they don't know. I think I might be looking for another doctor too.

I think some of them become too busy but their patients are tip priority. I hope that gets resolved soon.

Well, I know I have put down doctors, mostly from a select few who are really incompetent, but doctors are human and sometimes they fail. The problem arises when they are always doing something wrong, like the one doctor who misdiagnosed me not once, but twice, making me come back at least 3 times when once would have been good enough. Of course now I wonder, is that being incompetent or greedy? After all, the more times I am seen, the more money the doctor makes...

Having dealt with many doctors, I would not hold my breath or anything like that.

It is usually best if you phone a week in advance so that they can make sure that they have everything in for you!
