Struck by lightening.

My husband and I had just gone to bed during a bad thunderstorm when a really loud crack of thunder made me jump up. I felt a warm wave flow down my arm to my feet and back up.
My husband told me I was dreaming and to go back to sleep. The next day we discovered a dead cow next to a wire fence where lightening had struck. Then we knew that the electricity had run along the fence, into our bedroom and the outlet in the wall. My hand was the closest to the headboard next to the outlet and the electricity flowed into my body through my hand!
I wass scared to death when we figured out what happened, but so thankful it had weakened, before it got to me.

Oh dear Vicki! It was the grace of God that you were not killed as well!

I don't think we have a lightening rod, but I don't sleep near that outlet now!

Thanks, my hand was a little tingly for a day or so, but it sure could have been much worse.

@1creekgirl Cow? I swore you said crow. Hmm. That changes things. Pre-cooked steaks?

I've been in the forest a few times when bad storm came suddenly-I was unable to go anywhere. Aside from getting soaked, I was fortunate that nothing worse happened. Mmmm, it took me a few times to learn my lesson as a child.

Well, I wouldn't want to take any chances that I would survive the next time. But if I win the lottery, who knows.

@1creekgirl It's so slow around here lately, maybe a new trend will be started by a couple of us. I have to tell you, there's a LOT I haven't seen and it's really a lot of fun to sneak around and into some of them. As I might say, "There's gold left in them thar old mines if you look for'n." In other words, new pennies from old musings. Why not?

@porwest I seldom look at anyone's profile, but I'm frequently surprised at how many posts I've missed by some of my favorite myLoters.

Lightening isn't something to take lightly! I stay out of water and away from windows.

Holy crap @1creekgirl ; you were extremely lucky. That's like I tell people to never take a shower or turn on their faucets if there is a lightning storm.
