A mere millionaire will feel poor in New York's Billionaire's Row

About a year back, there is an article about an apartment in New York for rental. It does not come with furniture. The asking rent is $150,000 a month. I think a mere millionaire will feel poor living there among the billionaires. This shows that wealth is relative. If a millionaire lives among people who are not as rich as him, he will feel like a king. If you ask him to live among the billionaires, he will feel like a pauper.
The apartment, located in the towering One57 building at the bottom of Central Park includes three bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen, but no furniture.

Very interesting. I can't even imagine renting for that much money. I can't even imagine that much money...

haha, you might as well play a game "what if I have $150,000". I think you will find many better ways to spend the money than to pay for one month rental for an apartment with no furniture. I, for one, will bring my family on a whole cruise, so that everyone has a great time and get to see great places round the world.

This is why wealth is always a pointless target. Whatever you have, there's always someone out there with more.

True, and the riches of them all have the big problem of what to do with the money! They know that they cannot leave everything to their children, and they are so rich that they do not need to show off anymore.

Wealth is all relative, you are correct. The important thing is to be content with enough.

The most important thing is not to compare wealth with others. It is normal for us to aim for something better, but not because we want to show off our wealth. When we get something better, we will feel happy with our achievement.

Indeed. Just as in my case, with my one million I already feel rich and contented but if I would be living with the multi millionaire, I surely will feel poor as compared to them.

Yes, definitely, everything is comparative. If you go to New York, and stay among the billionaires, you will feel very bad about yourself, and your wealth. They probably feature in the list of billionaires, and you are a nothing to compare to them. So the moral of the lesson is: Be happy and value what you have, and the friendship and love of your family.

That is true. if anyone can afford to pay $150000 a month as rental, he might as well buy an apartment in other part of New York. This is really a very large sum of money for just month accommodation. I think I will use the money to sponsor a world cruise for my family! It surely does not cost so much!

You can sponsor the rental for two months, and help to rent the furniture too. The airfare from my place to New York is expensive enough. Sometimes I wonder why the billionaires want to stay there when they can stay in big houses in other cities.

OMG that is just hard for a millionaire. You know, the average expenses in here India is just 150$

haha, that is rather low. No wonder many Indians work overseas for a few years, and they have saved enough to buy land, build house and save up for their children to attend colleges. I think India will not be cheap in the future. If you can, buy more houses, so that you can earn a good income from renting out the apartment.
