Do you go to sporting events?

I am sat here dog sitting at home watching New Zealand V France in the rugby world cup quarter final, and the wife is at the game! The match is being played in Cardiff, which is about 30 miles away from us, close to where she works. Earlier in the week one of her contacts at work invited her to go as they had a spare ticket! She has just sent me this picture as a reminder of where she is - anyone would think that she is the rugby fan and not me!

We went to Argentina Namibia last Sunday and though the result would suggest it was a walkover, it was still very exciting.

I missed that game, I can imagaine that Argentina gave Namibia a good thrashing, what was the final score??

@destry 64-19 but Namibia never gave up. They still managed 3 tries and the game was exciting throughout. We saw both the Rugby League world cup semis a couple of years back and after an amazing England-NZ game, Australia turned the second semi into a deeply boring game and a total walk over.

I was glued to the tv screen, because the World Cup is miles away from me. Thank goodness it is broadcast. Sorry you are not at the game, if I got a chance I would have liked to go to a live match at a World Cup.

@destry , it was a terrible game, my nerves are shot! Wales were tough to beat. I will be happy tonight, but am aware I could be heartbroken after our next match.

@bluesa I only heard the last ten mins on the radio after taking the Mrs to the all black / france game, but I am looking forward to watching it tomorrow. Who are the springbocks playing next?

Tennis has never really appealed to me for some reason. Borris Becker is about the only tennis player I know of :)

Nascar is something that we don't have over here in the UK. The only time we ever hear of it is in one liner jokes involving red-necks and hill-billies. Does it really have that reputation over there?

No, I am not a fan of any kind of sport and I never go to sporting events. Imagine that I lived 25 years in Monte-Carlo and never assisted to a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

I used to regularly watch my beloved Newcastle United but since moving away from Newcastle almost 30 years ago I rarely get the chance to go. I love live football though so I've adopted my local team, the mighty Chadderton FC who are only about 6 divisions below the Football League in England. Crowds average about 50 to 60 (that's actually 50 to 60 NOT 50 to 60 thousand!!) but it's proper old-fashioned football not the prancing around like show-pony nonsense that gets served up at the higher levels these days.

Does school sport's day count? If so I've been to more than a few of those
