As suggested by numerous connections, I've decided to check out myLot. I still need to make my way around the site and learn all the ins and outs of the site. I've heard it's a great site and I hope to have a good relationship here as elsewhere. For my first post I will give a light introduction to myself. Some of this you can find in my bio. I am a mother of three - two boys and a girl, five grandchildren - two had birthdays yesterday and today, my girls now 12 and 22. I also have two great granddaughters ages 2 and 1. I am working on my laptop so I do not have a lot of pictures at my disposal, and the one on my profile was taken at a Christmas gathering several years ago. I am an author and have been writing since I was 8 years old, and first published in 2012. I am retired, and working on my final novel in a four book series - Colonial America. That's it about me, except to say I'm currently in a nursing home for rehab for a broken leg, and hope to be going home next week. If anyone has any suggestions about myLot I appreciate the advice. Thanks for reading.

You have gotten good help already and that is great. I am glad you are here and I guessed you were in a nursing home for rehab, but I did not hear what had caused it. I will look for that in a post perhaps.

@RubyHawk Thank you. I've been here since October. I was very happy to find so many friends from the other site. And a few more show up every so often. It feels like family.

Welcome to MyLot! I'm sure that you'll find it a great place to be and that you'll find many friends here. I'm sorry to hear that you are in hospital and I hope that you recover and are home soon. The first thing to do (if you haven't done so already) is to look up at the top left of the page next to your avatar and username, where you'll see your earnings to date (in dollars to the nearest 1/100 of a cent!), 'Settings' (where you can change the preferences in your profile) and Help. The two most important pages to read here are the Community Guidelines (= rules) and the Earnings Program FAQs. Both of them contain essential information about how MyLot works. Finding your way around a new site is always a little daunting at first and I have written a short guide to help newcomers. I hope you will find it useful and interesting!

Perhaps I should explain that I'm just one of the ordinary members here. I've been here for 9 years, so I've seen many changes and know quite a bit about the site (but not quite everything!) You'll find many more like me who are ready to help newcomers and answer any questions you have (and I'm sure that you'll have many at first). Many of the questions that newcomers have you will find have been answered here:
I've been a member here since October 2006 and I and several others have tried to help newcomers to understand the site and to get the best out of it. I've...

sorry to hear about your leg injury but congratulations on your book success - advice would be to read and interact as much as writing on here - the rest is self-explanatory and in the basic common sense rules

Also, when you get notifications, sometimes it will tell you several people commented on your discussion. It's a good habit to develop to scroll down the whole discussion because sometimes the people commenting aren't in any particular order, and it may happen that the system will move them around. For instance, on one of my earlier discussions, Janet's comment was at the bottom of the page, but the next day it moved her comment to the top of the page. So now I look a little more thoroughly at the interactions on my discussions to make sure I didn't miss anyone. People here like it better if we even reply back and forth on the same thread. I don't know how well those that post a lot are able to do that.

I found when I make a comment on a response, that it moves that response to the top of the list.

Tell me the titles of your books. I am very interested in Colonial America. My 8th great grandfather was a Pilgrim. You will love it here. There is a lot of back and forth conversations that are fun and make money.

Hello and welcome to mylot. Once you get the hang of the navigation system here, I think you will find the place to be quite nice. People are friendly and quite helpful here. I hope you enjoy your time within the walls. Happy Mylotting.

Welcome. I am new here also, only a week or so but I am still unpacking after moving here. I am slowly getting use to some things but at least I am having the help of @daddyevil who I met on Bubblews and Web answers. He is new here too but with all the help of these great people I am sure I will have no problem when I get into it 100%. Welcome and I am sure you will enjoy it. Maybe we can become great friends, hahaha
