Need of water proof phone

Hello Friends
I recently got new phone. (I guess many of you know it). This time there was phone's fault not mine habit
as it wasn't working at all. I have to go for new one.
Let me tell you my ex phone was damaged due to single water drop
. I don't know something like IC got damaged and phone just got dead. So a single drop of water can make you phone dead.
Well this is not true for all. As I was holding two phone when they got wet. One of them got dead.
Now my new phone is not water proof. But before than this incident I was always telling that what is need of water proof phone. I mean I don't need to jump in pool with the phone. But now I understand the real need of that.
... But what to do, those water proof phones are not that cheap either.
What do you think? Do you think there is requirement of water proof phone? I know the incident happens with me was like accident and it will not going to happen all the time.. or who knows?

A water proof is a good one because you never know when the next incident with water will happen. My niece just the other day soaked her mum's phone in a bucket of water in the name of washing. So who knows what can happen

@Missmwngi Well, only few phones are affordable which come with water proof feature. Otherwise most of them comes with high price range.
If something like water proof case is available as @BACONSTRIPSXXX mentioned on his response, then it will be more cool.

@akp100 Oooh yeah,prevention is better than cure. I guess the few coins needed as an addition to buy a water proof one is worth it

This just shows that cheap is not always good.
Having said that, having more expensive smart phone may not be good too.
There is no guarantee that the phone will work for next 2 years without causing problem.
I think the more we rely on smartphone, and the more the world wants newer and newer smartphone, the quality is going to deterioriate.

That's for sure. They have really compromised with the quality in compare to past to decrease the price of the gadget.
About the water incident, I guess same result will come up with costlier phone too. I mean water is not friend of costly gadget by ignoring those cheap phones.

Dont worry about the water proof cell phones. You are not allowed a phone call when you scuba dive, and sharks come around
Okay enough of my stupid jokes. In all seriousness, yes, some water proofing is necessary - just in case you want to get wet in the rain when returning from work or else.

Yes bro.. Sometimes it is needed. I am not going to purchase special costly phone for the same. But if I can do some water proofing as you mentioned then I can make it safe.
About calling under water, Well I will think 10 times before taking my phone under water even if it is water proof.

Even my phone was gone in water. its difficult for me to buy a new one. And like you said i would buy only the water proof one of sony as sony is the leading brand in that types of phone.

Yes.. .Sony is good one. And I guess they are the one who has introduced first water and dust proof phone in the market. Not sure.
But Sony's phone are really costly if we compare it with other phones. Motorola has launched one water proof phone in cheap price range. So it is affordable one.

That misleading commercial won't give you real life waterproof device, there are some of Sony's claim but they too are not sure
