I have made a few menus before and never really stuck to them, maybe one but switched the days around. My Mother said it helps and I do believe that if I could only stick to it! L.O.L. Anyway this was one of my lists Monday- Meat Loaf, Mashed Potatoes, Salad Tuesday Tacos Wednesday Chicken Wings with Carrot and celery sticks Thursday Cheese Tamales, Rice and Beans; Friday Hamburgers and fries, Saturday is whatever day either Pizza or Sandwiches or some fast food? Sunday is the Soup Day the stew kind Mexican Soup "Caldo" It is sort of like a Pot Roast. Okay so I never really stick to it except for the Sunday thing. What about you? Do you keep a menu? I don't include Breakfast or Lunch on my menu because
I don't always eat Breakfast and lunch is usually is leftovers

Funny thing you brought this up.
I actually tried this two weeks ago and it did not work, I actually do try to go through my foods and only go to the store every two weeks except for drinks and things hear and there. I do write a list of the things i can make with the food i have then cross it off when i dont have it anymore. That seems to help me the best keep track of exactly what food i have in the house and what i do need to purchase.
There are a few things that help people and if making a menu for your household helps, then go for it, nothing saying to stop now and if your mom likes it even better for you. I wish i could stick to it, but then i get home and the others in the house say no i don't want that, So then it helps you and not me, but good for you.

@jahernandezrivas It is way to hard to stick to the list. Then i only have kids Tuesday and thursday at the house then they want other stuff then what i had put on the list and sometimes have to go out to the store. Its always something though.

Lunch is when I eat my biggest meal. I have a small breakfast (usually a coffee with a tostada). I tried to make menus, but I never sticked to them so I quit. Now I ask myself during breakfast what I would like to have for lunch.

For a couple of years now we have had a supper menu. My hubby and I sit down and talk about what we want to eat the following week and then we write out what we need at the grocery store. We try to just go get food once a week though I've been supplementing with a trip to the discount store, too, trying to just buy good for us food there and not junky stuff. We are doing good at sticking to the menu- yesterday I ran out of white flour so I ended up making dumplings instead of pot pie. A menu and sticking to a food list is helping us keep up on paying bills.
