Well, I'm up here at my doggie destination and only managed to take three photos on the way up, plus a few here on arrival, so I'll share these with you over the next day or so. My first stop wasn't too far from home, in a small town called Feilding, a small rural town with a population of only 14,000. I go across to Feilding often, especially on Friday's for the Farmers Market, which always wins the award for the best Farmers Market in New Zealand. Today is Friday, but I didn't have time to stop at the market. You can see it in the distance in the photo. Fielding is a very rural town, surrounded by farms. It also has a wonderful café culture, with far more cafés than most small towns have. My friends and I often drive their to go shopping and have lunch or coffee. One of the bonuses is free parking, which we don't have much of in the city. I'll try and put my next post on in another couple of hours.

What a neat and nice little place. It's a shame you had no time to visit their farmer market.

I love farmer's markets. The town looks very inviting. Do a lot of people ride their bikes to work in New Zealand?

They are down in Wellington, the capital city, too. In my city they're quite reasonable, with senior discounts. But free is definitely good.

@garymarsh6 in the bigger cities here the cheapest you could do for 5 hours would be NZ$20, but you'd have to hunt around for that!

@valmnz I parked at work a couple of months ago because I had a lot of equipment in my car I needed to use in the hospital and it cost me £11 for five hours.$24.95 New Zealand Dollars!

We have a little Farmer's Market on Fridays, too. That looks like a nice little town, I prefer small towns.
