Can you smell the onions I'm frying?

I hope not, but it sure is a strong smell. My husband wants onions on his steak sandwich so I volunteered to fry them. I hate frying food and I don't eat onions so I'm not the perfect person to do this job. However, it's better than letting him mess up my kitchen! Don't worry, I turned the burner off a while ago, I don't want to set the house on fire!

Oh my goodness, yes, I smell them. They sure smell awesome. I would love to have a side order of them. Send them my way for dinner.

You might be able to smell them since you're right down the road! I gave some away already, next time!

I can't eat onions or garlic, but that doesn't stop me loving the smell of them frying and drooling, remembering how they used to taste...Yumyum

Leeks are stronger than many onions. I was on a leek kick years ago and I sware I can still smell them!

@AbbyGreenhill depends on the year, dry years onions have less water content and can be super strong.

LOL what a coincidence . . . my wife is cooking Asian food which requires a hell lot of fried onions! It is still quite warm here in Calgary, so all the windows in the kitchen are wide open for the smell to be shared with our neighbors.
