Have you ever worked 2 jobs?

There was a year when I worked 2 jobs.
I had a full time job that required at least 44 hours of work a week, including Saturday.
I had a part time weekend job that required at least 6 hours of work. Sometimes I got to work 6 hours on Saturday, and another 8 hours on Sunday.
I was not the only one who worked such long hours.
Apparently many people are holding 2 jobs. I know of many persons in my workplace holding 2 jobs. Some of them work in retail during weekends. Some of them help out in family food stalls. Some of them work as taxi drivers or Uber drivers.
I personally see it as the result of overheated economy, but my friends see it as a result of high cost of living that drives people to take on 2 jobs, since they cannot survive on the income of one job.

That's 44 hours, so about 7 hours a day? Plus 6 hours on weekends, that's almost no social life because you need to sleep 8 hours or maybe in your case 6 hours of sleep is fine already. You are very industrious. Me, I have a full time and a part time job. Full time is the normal eight hours a day weekdays only. But sometimes there is overtime if needed. My part time job is just on oncall basis. Do you ever get tired?

Yes, that was a very tiring year, and I managed to survive that tough year.
The 44 hours are not split equally into 6 working days.
Most companies offer 8 to 9 hours of work during Monday to Friday, and 4 hours on Saturday.
The problem is that hardly anyone goes back on time.
Most people work an hour or two extra for no pay.

@scheng1 yeah I have that experience too. Overtime but no pay. I can imagine. I see your in Singapore so the cost of living there is expensive.

Yes, I have worked two jobs, and did so for over ten years. At one point I worked two jobs and went to classes two nights a week. It really aged me.

Wow, that sounds very tiring.
i lasted just for one year, and I have enough sense not to take on two jobs again.
I cannot imagine doing it for ten years.
I know that it is very tiring to attend classes at night after work.
That is the way I got my diploma and degree, and I do not want to suffer through another year of full time work, and night classes again.

Over here, nearly every mum whom I know works full time.
it is nothing new, and some mums work practically 12 hours a day. The official working hours always is 8 to 9 hours, but since many bosses are very demanding, and the company wants to cut cost, the employees have to work longer hours for free.
