Managed to get my appointment date totally wrong

Appointments at the local chiropodist have been extremely difficult to acquire over the past few months. After a long period of constantly telephoning or visiting in order to arrange an appointment, I was finally allocated one. The date was set for several weeks later, so I entered it into the calendar on my mobile phone. Since that occasion my mobile phone ceased to work, but that was not a problem because I remembered that the appointment was for this coming Friday. Around 10 AM this morning I decided to go through the formality of telephoning the reception to confirm the date and time, at which time I was informed that the appointment was for 11 AM today. I cannot understand how I managed to get the date so wrong, but fortunately I discovered the error in time and was able to attend.

Blame it on the clocks going back.

I would need a lot of clocks to allow for a 3 day difference.

It was extremely fortunate. Finding out at 10 AM allowed me time to travel to the precinct and have a coffee before the appointment, which was perfect timing.

Hummm, the change of hour has affected your appointment may be. At least you were able to fix it.

That was a definite consolation because it would have been a catastrophe to miss it.

After having such a time getting an appointment, you were very lucky that you called to confirm.

Glad you gave them a call in time! I usually set a few reminders on my phone for my scheduled appointments. So glad there's a feature for that.

I missed an Oktoberfest party by entering it wrong on my calendar. When I showed up on a Friday, I was told it had taken place the previous Saturday. Sheesh. That was odd.

It would not have been too bad if you had arrived early, but luck rarely operates that way.

@Asylum Too true. I am going to have to check two or three sites next time, just to be sure I don't miss it. I like the whole German party culture.

I am bad at remembering dates too but whenever I go to an appointment and get a date for the next one, I have a magnate on the refrigerator and I place the card on there. I am always in the frig so I know I will see it. I also put it on a calendar near my computer and one in my purse. The older I am getting the more I forget things, so one of these places I know I will look at.

I entered the appointment into my mobile phone, but the mobile stopped working in the meantime.
