I heard yesterday in the news that there was a huge earthquake in Pakistan. It is so strange seeing all these natural disasters happen around the same time. Mexico, USA and now Pakistan :( I pray for all the families that have to live with the losses of loved ones during such disasters and RIP to all those that lost their lives

Horrible things are going on all over the world. Sometimes, it helps to keep these things in mind, for me, when I start grumbling about something unimportant. It helps give me perspective.

It does the same for me, but I have to be careful not to watch news of such terrible events too many times a week as it is so distressing.

@41CombedaleRoad I'm the same way. I can't even read articles or see videos of animals in distress. It literally makes me cry. I will go to another screen. I don't have a TV.

We may be able to control many things but we cannot control nature and natural disasters. We can pray or we can donate to relief efforts.

Because the tectonic plates are relatively connected so it has a ripple effect.

The Earthquake had epicenter in an area of Afghanistan which is near Pakistan. The scale was 8.1, and its impact was felt as far as Uttar Pradesh in India, and almost whole of North India. The fact is that a lot of Hilly and adjoining plain areas in Afghanistan, India and Pakistan are in seismic zone 5 and 4, and very susceptible to earthquakes. I feel the governments in these 3 countries as well as people should do more towards de-congesting crowded cities and making more earthquake-resistant structures.

You are right. The governments seem not to bother though.

I felt very unhappy with the incident happened in the Pakistan. So many lives were lost in that incident. It is very horrible thing which it kills around 350 plus people. Even In India, the Jammu Kashmir also affected with that. So I pray God to give some peace to their souls.
