It has been my task to separe my mother´s clothes to give away to charities. My friend Marta is a volunteer at an old people´home and she says that everything is welcome.
Anyway, I will not just place everything in a bag and send it. Many decades ago, I met a young woman who had surviver Chile´s most horrible earthquake (and the worst ever recorded) Her family lost everything and they had to flee from the subsecuent tsunami.
Her family was placed in a refugee´s camp. And the "ladies" who took care of what to give to whom of the help that was sent, took the best for themselves and gave her rags.
It has been decades since I was told this story, but I have not forgotten.
My best mother´s clothes will go for the old ladies and the worn underwear will either be used as rags or go to the garbage can.
My friend already took some clothes yesterday. And we are now separating some more for her to take next week when she comes here on her weekly visit.
What do you do with your discarded clothes?

Leticia told me that she´d use the underwear asrags. I agreed as I don´t think that I´d like to give out those garments

@Missmwngi Giving out clothes in bad shape is a lack of respect.

I collect the clothes that I don't use anymore and donate them to one of the shops that sell second hand clothes. Those shops sell the clothes that they receive and spend the money on different kinds of charity. If the clothes aren't in good condition I use them as rags or put them in the garbage bin.

I´m a sort of a hoarder with my own clothes, but now that I have to give away my mother´s clothes, I´ll check on my own closets.

My mother´s clothes are not what a younger person would wish to wear.

My mother´s clothes will cause much happiness at an old ladies home. Her clothes are made of good fabrics.

I cleaned my closet yesterday and went through my clothes and decided some things I never wear or will never wear again so I got a bag and filled
it up for donations for next week. I am donating them and some other things for the paralyzed veterans
