Trick or Treater got bit of a surprising treat!

Last night we had our shopping delivered, and it was also Samhain (Halloween for those not up on their Celtic mythology). Anyway, we were in the midsts of unpacking all of our food - the food we paid for and the freebies. We had tins and packets, creates and bags all over the hallway and living room as we divided things into the relevant cupboard space. There was a knock at the front door and I thought it might have been the delivery guy wanting to pick up the things he wrongly delivered to us - but no, I was greeted to a skeleton of a dwarf. A 4 ft something skeleton who was out revelling on such a spooky night. I hadn't planned any treats for tick or treaters, and he had gone to so much effort in dressing up. The first thing at hand (apart from my shotgun) was the pile of tins that was next to the door. I reached down and handed him a tin of spaghetti hoops! Needless to say, he was not best impressed with my spooky offerings! Did you get many treat or trickers last night? What do you normally give to them??

Haha, I guess not. Mmmm, we haven't had any people for years now, and even when we did there were only a few, we live kinda far out in the rural area. If someone came, they...probably would have gotten cereal. And...I probably would have gotten my house egged, mmmm I would not blame them:)

Nothing unfortunately because we're staying with my parents and they don't celebrate Halloween due to religious reasons. Most trick or treaters don't come through here anyway. They prefer to go to the fancy rich people houses.

We do not get trick or treaters at my house. Everyone mainly goes to shopping centers or safe subdivisions.

Spag hoops are . . .hoops of spaghetti in a tomatoe sauce - a cheap and cheerful topping to have on toast. You can also get Alphabeti spaghetti - pasta shapes in the form of all the different letters in the alphabet, in tomatoe sauce and tinned. Personally, I only the letter J!

None this year, but we do live down an unlit cul-de-sac and none of our neighbours had any pumpkin displays this year, so there was nothing to attract any passers-by.

I wrote yesterday about my husband and the tub of diet coleslaw he offered some kids last year.

@boiboing Yumm, you enjoy it. I really enjoy a good quiche. I normally add some parmasan cheese to the pastry, gives it a really rich flavour.
