As some of you already know, I cycle to work and back each day, which means I cover 100 miles a week on my bike. All this cycling keeps me nice and fit, but when I first started cycling I realised that this times could be used to help me learn new things. It was at this point I had a brain wave, why not listen to books I have always wanted to read, but not had the time while I ride! So off I went and signed up for a well know audio book service and started to learn while I peddled. This use of my cycling time, some ten hours a week has been revolutionary for me, I have learned so much and of course kept fit at the same time. Until I ran into the problem of having so much dead time while I cycled I had never though of listening to books, but now I listen while cycling, walking and running. I have to say it is just awesome keeping both the mind and body fit and healthy all in one go.

That is a very good idea. What sort of books are you listening to while you ride?

that's nice - you're definitely making god use of your time i hope you are careful though, since your attention is now divided and the roads are dangerous

thankfully there are no roads involved @lady1993 as I use the cycle track to travel to work and back, so much safer that fighting with the traffic.

I have not tried listening to books in a long while. I was not very adept at paying attention when I tried before.

That is a really great way to make the best use of your time. My wife used to use an audio book thing too. That way she could work and read her books as well without having to actually read the book.

Maybe also spend your cycle time to compose a book!
