Adult Coloring Book Trend ?

I don't know who is writing these articles saying it is a trend, but i never stopped coloring in coloring books. Sure i buy for my grands, but i also enjoy them too.and when i need some relaxation, i turn to one of the books and just color in it... Maybe they are for adults only these new books, or maybe they think they are starting something new, but these black and whites were out from the 60's. How many here remember the black and white posters we could color in if we wanted to?? I for one will not stop doing what i like and don't need any fancy name to say i'm trending.. No, I am busy doing my coloring and eating a brownie..Want to play marbles later?

I have looked at the adult coloring books, and one could really use their imagination coloring the pictures. I like the conventional coloring books myself. I might be 67, but I still like to color, even though I haven't done it in years. I might try to find a Christmas coloring book, and color. as i have a box of 64 crayons just sitting in the drawer.

@Rosekitty Yea, I sure remember that too, when my kids were in school. I am going to look for a Christmas coloring book, as I am itching to use the new box of crayons.

They are making books especially for adults, but you can always print things from the net, or just do one of those scribble drawings. Did you ever do that? Just scribble all over the paper and then color in between where the lines intersect? Totally psychedelic.

An Adult Coloring book I love the Disney and the other ones. I am bad with colors and shades and barely understand them, still this is a very good way to relax and forget the worries. In case I get to buying a coloring book for my nephew, I buy two copies and keep one for me. Nephew is better, has some ideas of his own and does good work. Gets Very Good on them from his teachers. No one gives or even bothers to look at what colors I did. Once, I painted Donald Duck in all Red just to see how he would look in a different color. And it was.... horrible

I did a review of an 'adult coloring book' so I have one - I will donate it at Christmas time. It is a beautiful book and it's not really just for adults, any kid would love it.

I saw some of these at Walmart a few days ago. I would not mind buying one but I would want to buy some quality colored pencils as well. I did not see any at Walmart that day.

They have those expensive "adult" coloring books - they are more intricate in design than the kiddie ones - and supposedly calming. I'm all for getting scratch paper - whatever is on hand - and doodling! And we can color what we want - don't even have to stay in the lines - color and be free!!

I guess you don't hear about adults coloring, I never do, none of my friends, or family do. I did order two of them, as gifts and the adults, were not into it. Some people really like it, so a trend for some and not others. I do remember those black and white posters, they were small and some had velvet on them, you could paint them.

the only real difference I see is the much finer details in these, I actually picked up one yesterday, I need more colored markers with much finer tips too.

@Rosekitty here in Latvia there are coloring books for children but not really good ones. However online I have found coloring pages for both kids and adults that you can print out. I print them for myself and just enjoy coloring. There are even complex designs for adults and it's all great fun.

I got my aunt (who is eighty years old), one of these adult coloring books, and she loves it. She does a fairly neat job coloring to be eighty years old. It gives her something to do with her time.
