How many catalogs did you get in the mail today?

United States

They started arriving a few weeks ago, one or two a day...some I looked though and tossed, others just got the old heave-ho. Today, we stopped at the mailbox on the way back from our errands in town and my husband handed me a stack of catalogs - there were 10 of them. Two I get throughout the year and the others were names I never heard of before. Besides the catalogs the rest of mail consisted of a letter from the local Chevy dealer telling us they want to buy back our 2010 Chevy ...good record keeping - we traded that vehicle (to them) a year ago! I guess I should be happy the mail didn't contain any bills! But the catalogs are getting way too much. I think there is a website where you can go and cancel them. Does anyone know the name of that site? I used it a few years ago but lost the name! I

Only two catalogs in the mail today. I have to say that I love to go through Christmas catalogs, there are plenty of beautiful items. I try to avoid buying, we already have too much stuff.

@AbbyGreenhill So true, most are junk and I have to put them with the paper to bring to the recycle bin.

I seldom will receive catalogs in my mailbox. Usually it will be several leaflets and that's all. The catalog may come from Ikea mainly. But I seldom will read it carefully. I think a brief leftlet may work better because I have no time to read the thick catalog.

I think Ikea is the only one we don't get!

@AbbyGreenhill Naw, lol. I'm good. Thanks though! lol. My mom used them to stuff things like boxes, and let us cut out whatever we wanted for arts and crafts, we used to love her getting catalogs, because we knew she'd dump them in the arts cabinet for us!

Do you mean flyers? We call them flyers here in Canada.

I guess that's the same, they are little booklet type things with all kinds of items for you to spend your money on.

I reckon I should check my mail box. I only do so every three days or so and forgot about the "catalog factor" as the Holidays approach. I'll keep any from LL Bean (catalogs go by the toilet) and toss the rest.

My thrill of the day is getting the mail...not that I get it, my husband does. When you live in the country it's the little things!

I get some that say this is your last catalog unless you place a order. A year later they are still coming and no order has been placed.

They just say that to everyone and then still mail them! Maybe it's to make you want to order for ''fear'' of never getting the stinking catalog again!

Maybe they are not so popular in Canada?
