2 more long days to get through..

Today and tomorrow I'm picking up an extra hour each, so I have slightly longer shifts to get through. But then I have no plans for this weekend for a change. Band season is over so we have no shows to go to. My son will be busy, he's running tech crew for the middle school play which will be Friday and Saturday, then Sunday he'll go to rehearsal for a church play he will be in. But the rest of us have no major plans. I will sleep in, relax a bit, and possibly go shopping to see if I can find any deals to grab for Christmas presents. What are your plans for this weekend?

Nothing much going on this weekend. We have errands to run and then will be going out to eat Mexican food.

@katsmeow1213 Well, our plans changed. Neither of us felt like going out this weekend. My brother made spaghetti and we watched several movies that he rented.

Hubby just left to catch a train to his job for the weekend. He won't be back until Sunday afternoon and that means I'm on vacation. I do only what I want to do and nothing else. I will take the time to catch up here. I'm almost there and I have some painting to do to deliver next week.

It is kind of nice when they're not around, isn't it? Hope he has a safe trip.

@katsmeow1213 He lost his job earlier in the year and my first thought was oh no he's going to be home 24/7 all year... The company he worked for gave up the job but the new company that took over the job called him within two day asking him to join their group. YEA!!! We're retired, he doesn't need to work but its a sports job that he LOVES and he would have been miserable during the season without it. and So would I !!!

@PainsOnSlate LOL! I know the feeling. I used to get so frustrated that my husband was never home because he puts in 50 hours a week at his job. But now I look forward to having some time without him around. I can't seem to get anything done when he's around.

This weekend I will do some major grocery shopping on Saturday. I intend to hit CVS, Aldi's and one local small chain store. I need to do a restock of several things. I hope to sleep in on Sunday but I don't know how that will turn out. The twins have been battling a bad cough/asthma and Lil Keith has an ear infection so we will see. Enjoy your time off and your shopping.

I did my grocery shopping tonight so that's out of the way. This weekend will just be hunting for some Christmas deals. Unfortunately I'll most likely have my younger 2 with me unless I wait till Sunday when the older kids will be home to watch them.

It's strange that Christmas shopping already is on everyone's mind. No wonder Black Friday comes right after Thanksgiving. People are frustrated, waiting to get Thanksgiving over with so that they can get to the Christmas shopping. But there will be no need for that, if you can get to it now. Kids' activities are overwhelming. They have so much going on, and so much energy to do it with. The happiest days of life often are the ones raising kids, although they ironically are the most stressful days of life. Doing Christmas shopping in the midst of all that swirling activity is going to be a challenge, or possibly might end up being a relaxing and satisfying diversion, especially if done secretly.

Shopping is never relaxing for me, I am not a fan of shopping. I have 5 kids to buy for. I couldn't afford to finish Christmas if I waited until the last minute to get it started, so I try to start early enough to get it all done. I don't usually mind how busy the kids are. I enjoy watching them participate in their activities. It does get exhausting after awhile and I just need some time off.. I'm feeling that way now because band and soccer just ended and that's our busiest time of year.

My weekends are very free form, and usually revolve around whatever the hubby wants to do.

I have of course two more full days of work. Then i have to help my cousin move into her new house she is renting. Then sunday i am helping decorate for xmas with my family. We have property on a main street here and we go all out every year for familes to come and visit us and hang out under a fire and we serve refreshments and what not. Its a great place for families to come and visit. My weekend is booked, so tonight i am trying to catch up on cleaning and doing the laundry. Of course we have the girls tonight and it might be hard to finish up around my house.

I will catch up on some housework this weekend most likely, or on one of my days off next week.
