Just back from a cruise and checking out new cruise

I am still in my holiday mood though my cruise vacation is truly over. When I returned to work, my desk was piled high with outstanding work that I had to clear. It is depressing to stay back to work overtime when I am still in a vacation mood. I am checking out cruise for next year on Princess cruise website and Royal Caribbean website. All the cruise itineraries look very attractive. The re-position cruises are especially tempting. To think that I can take a cruise from Dubai to Singapore, or Australia to Singapore, or China to Singapore just by booking online!

You are very lucky, because you have much time for vacation on cruise whereas it is very expensive moreover when you go overseas. Hmm...how you are happy...Have a nice day during your vacation.

Actually a cruise is a cheaper option than a flight to somewhere else. The cruise fare includes all meals, so you can eat practically non-stop. Some cruise trips are less than a week, so it does not take up a lot of annual leaves.

@MALUSE Nothing. Gain nothing and lose nothing. The walk on the top deck is great! Imagine walking round the ship and looking up at the star, and listening to the sound of the sea, and letting the sea breeze dries your hair!

I haven't had a cruise trip before but it is very attractive for me. I like to eat different of cuisines in the ship. And there are many entertainments in the ship, too. But I am a little afraid will I have a seasick? As I heard some of my friends had seasick when they were in the ship. They had to take pills and slept all the time. If so, it will really spoil the mood.

@scheng1 My friend took Costa Cruise from China to Malaysia. Perhaps she was sensive and she really had a seasick. Perhaps she needed a while to adjust to it.

@youless I think she worries too much until she gets sick. Either that or she is so unlucky as to travel during the typhoon season. If the typhoon can blow away the trees in China, it can cause the ship to rock too. By the way, Royal Caribbean has bigger ships than Costa cruise. Next time you take Royal Caribbean.

I think your friends take the river cruise, instead of the large ships that sail the sea. There are many large cruise ships that visit China, and depart from Shanghai and Tianjin. You can imagine how big the ship is when I tell you that 3000 passengers and more than 1000 crew members are on board at the same time. You do not get seasick because the ship is more stable than a car.

I have never taken a cruise, in spite of my love for traveling. But it seems that you have to have someone to go with you.

It is best that you have someone to go with you, unless you are a seasoned cruiser, and the ship has cabin for singles. There are many cruise ship with limited cabin for singles, so that you do not have to pay extra for travelling solo.

I hate coming back to piled up work.. one of the negatives of taking a vacation. I guess looking forward to the next cruise will help you get through all that work.

I hate to see the work pile up during my absence. On the other side of the coin, I do not want to do the work of my colleagues if they go on leave, so I guess that is fair.

Taking a cruise is cheaper than taking up a tour package that includes flying. The cost of a cruise includes all meals on board, and that includes room service. When I told my colleagues about the room service, they were very impressed. They thought that I paid a very high price for such premium service.
