Terrorism Again?

It was reported on BBC News that the investigators to the downed Metrojet Airbus A321 which was flying from Sharm el-Sheikh to St Petersburg when it came down minutes after takeoff in Sinai last Saturday was not due to engine failure, since a sudden and violent explosion was heard from the recovered black box. Another source from UK seem to have had intercepted militant calls indicating that a bomb was being placed in the hold before take-off, with militants linked to the Islamic State group (IS) claimed that they downed the plane. I am just sad and shocked with this report. Like the rest of the world, I believe everyone is seeking for answers like where is the stringent airport security at Sharm El-Sheikh airport. These militants (IS) should not have taken the lives of the innocent civilians regardless of their nationality, this is really awful and criminal on their part. On the other hand, I hope that there is no fabrications on the reports of the intercepted calls and militants relating to the claim of responsibility. At the same time, I wonder how and why did Russia came about to take on the IS militants on behalf of the controversial Syrian president Bashar Assaad. Haven't the Russians learned anything from the US involvements? Shouldn't Syria be left on its own to fight their own civil war? Above all, do you think this air disaster to be an act of terrorism again? Image courtesy of David Castillo Dominici at FreeDigitalPhotos.net

It seems certain that it was a terrorist's bomb that brought the plane down, but we'll probably know more soon. I don't know what these people think that they will gain, except to put the whole world against them.

It is 99% official that it is a bomb that brought down this commercial passenger jet and memories of Benghazi suddenly came to my mind where in Egypt the U.S. ambassador was killed there. I really wonder if Russia did themselves in for participating in the Syrian's civil war where their primary target is the IS militants who are claiming responsibility for this fatal air disaster.
Several senior administration officials told CNN the United States is almost positive a Russian passenger jet was brought down by a bomb.

Do you know that we already have 300,000 refugees coming into Europe from Syria?! This is not "only" their problem, if we do nothing, the next year we will get more than two millions. There is no place in Europe where to keep them and there is no work for all of them. This is a serious problem.

I believe that is the official numbers as reported by the news and there is even more considering how the refugees are escaping from their country and sneaking in from various routes where the last I heard was the treacherous Baltic route. The Middle East regions are very unrest and unstable, I hate to envisage what it will be if the war continues. I hope that people will come to their senses and that the superior countries will not meddle with their domestic affairs.

Oh yes I believe so @LadyDuck that other countries will be in not so good condition due to the effect of this terrorism. Refugees everywhere. It is hard for the countrymen and hard for the refugee also.

I still can't understand why Europe should give shelter to refugees. Give me a shelter. No, i should collect plenty of docs only to visit Europe or work there. I may also claim that my ruler is agressive (just look at that Ukranian plane or situation with Kogalymavia plane) , it is not safe to walk at nights here, and there are plenty of human rights' violation. But i don't do that, i stay patient and run to nowhere. Plus i have fair skin and i was brought up in a civilized country and i don't throw away litter on the streets, and i don't demand to build a mosque near my house and i want to work as any worker, not just get benefits for idleness. Unjustice.

These people are easily converted due to their life in poverty. If they were mostly have a stable life and not desperate, I think they would not end up as a terrorist. In past I think they are privately funded to cause trouble in the middle east so that the west can have easy access to oil unlike before. I doubt US can get involved, they promised to withdraw from middle east.

You are only partly right here and I hate to say this but above all there are people who joined such a kind of militia because of their personal perceptions of the current world according to their beliefs and practices. Money is definitely involved and motivating factor when you see these networks grow and reaching extensively into secured sensitive infrastructures like airports, government offices, venues of worldwide events and so on. US may have withdrawn their troops from the Middle East but I think you would already have read that they are again actively involved with the training of the Syrian rebels. The joke of it being that the moment these trained rebels are being released back into population, they were all kidnapped.

@artemeis If they had education the way we had, they won't join organizations like those. but some are adding nationalism with islam some how which is they are dragged in to terrorist activist. If the US is back, then i guess they can never let go of the middle, they are STUCK actually.

@Letranknight2015 Let me just add that no matter how educated one may be, when one does not use some common sense, logic and an objectivity, I can assure you - that there will still be some who will walkover to the camp or be another sympathizer. Such domestic willfulness just add to the ramifications to the worsening situation.

I suspect it was a bomb alright. Russia should have learned its lesson after its own adventure in Afghanistan, where its military was bloodied.

I think like Benghazi, Egypt has proved it again that they are rather negligent with their security. It is very unthinkable on how a bomb could be sneaked into the plane like this one. This catastrophe could have been avoided if their airport security had been on their toes.

It seems a little too soon to say one way or the other. A few times people thought it was and it ended up a problem with the plane itself. So who knows wait for the final report before deciding on it.

Frankly, I don't quite believe that a commercial jetliner can just go down like that due to engine failure given the technology today and the recent air disasters. The chances of it happening is not impossible but to me it is just quite remote since lives are involved. When I saw the news telecast, my husband and I could not help concluding otherwise from the debris scatter report. Because if there's an engine failure and it came crashing down, then there will be much more burning around the site. Since the airplane is loaded with full fuel during takeoff. I sure hope that it isn't a terrorism incident but right now I'm just skeptical of it being an accident.

@artemeis Yes I can see this. I was trying to be optimistic and hope for the best. But stranger things have happened and who's to say how they happened. I hope they can discover how it happened and try to fix it so it doesn't happen again.

I do believe it is. With all the tight airport security it's a wonder they were able to place a bomb in the hold. Then again, I read another post on here, I'm not sure who posted it, about a man who bribed a security official at the same airport to get on a flight ahead of everyone else.

Corruption is rampant everywhere around the world so I'm not surprised since these extremist groups are well funded and if I may add indecently rich. As for the latest, you are not gonna believe it so check my latest post coming up real soon. I'll give you a hint here - fake detectors.

Since these lunatics and their countries does not know what to do, I believe we should petition for heavy fines to the countries and as for these losers they should be locked up in the worst prison. Since they have disregarded peoples' human rights, theirs should be revoked for life and be the subjects for human testings on various experiments to improve sciences.
