What have you done so far to go green and to care for the environment?

Everybody talks about going green, making less pollution, using eco-friendly products etc. But no one actually implements what they say. Have done anything in this regards? Have you thought of your next generation ?

I've been fruitarian since December 2014, raw vegan since August 2011, vegan since December 2000 & veggy since age 19... so that's quite a lot I've done for the environment & going green without really trying & saving a lot of $$$ in the process.

@gautaam I've also built a number of "free energy" devices, have a solar amorphous battery system & plan to go off-grid at some point. I'll do an electric car conversion soon too.

I recycle everything I can. I also rarely use my dryer and hang my laundry up to dry.

@gautaam it helps the environment by using less electricity. The less electricity I use, the less coal that has to be burned.

I travel only when it is necessary. I try to combine many chores on the way and plan the outing to detail so that I am not shuttling around unnecessarily many times in the day. I also use the telephone services to fullest so that I don't have to travel much most of the time, and I use less paper than I did almost 25 years ago. :) I also use less number of clothes...and use them till they tear. The torn cloth is not wasted either. I use it for dusting and cleaning kitchen tables. The vegetable waste goes into my money plant pot and basil pot. I cook only once in a day, and have no issues in eating leftovers. The second time I only cook chapatis. I can say I am not quite there but better than some, and have improved from what I was.
