Sometimes, if my car is in the shop, I'll use Uber to get to work. The prices are less than a cab and they arrive faster. I like that there is no exchange of cash as it is taken out of your account when you order the ride on the app. The cars have been clean and the drivers polite. So far , I think it is a good service. Have ave you used Uber or Lyft? what do you think of the service?

Here there is no Lyft but Uber is available. Besides Uber, we have another similar and it is called Didi. They provide better price than normal taxi. And the cars are usually very new and clean. The driver is polite. So I like to use their service rather than calling a normal taxi. As a customer, I think they are better than taxi.

Hi Welcome to Mylot! I never used technology to call a cab. For me I went to office to get it registered and then they came to the location I asked for. But yes those cabs were clean and driver knew the road best

I was thinking about it until I saw on the news someone attacked the Uber driver so I changed my mind

That's terrible. I occasionally read something like that.

@Dalane I agree, I just don't get why people flip out like that and don't really want to know. I think it is so sad that people do such awful things.

I actually have not heard of either of these before, so no I don't use them.

These are services where you can order a ride to where ever you are going right from your smart phone. The drivers are regular people (carefully screened) that use their own cars to give you a lift. The charge is much less than a taxicab would charge. It's a good service and it has become quite popular.

No, but they have had a lot of bad press over here, with some of their managers being arrested for dodgy dealings and unlicenced drivers!

Really? That's a shame because when people are honest, it's such a good service.
