Apollo Lunar Samples

When the Apollo astronauts brought samples back from the moon, scientists studies them back in the 70s and were confused because the samples showed amino acids on them. In case you don't know, amino acids are the building blocks of life. This confused them, did it mean the moon once had life? Now with current technology, they are sure the samples were just contaminated. When I first read this, I was a little excited, until I read about the contamination theory!
A team of NASA-funded scientists has solved an enduring mystery from the Apollo missions to the moon - the origin of organic matter found in lunar samples returned to Earth. Samples of the lunar soil brought back by the Apollo astronauts contain low levels

I read one time that moon landing on the moon was being doubted. The article said it was just faked by NASA.

I have heard those theories, but I don't believe them.

@Pattitude I don't believe them either. I believe it is meant to just discredit them because there is some kind of competition with the other nation.

@salonga I still remember as a child how my grandfather marveled at the moon landing.

@Pattitude yes - never understood that as the moon looks more golden yellow to me

It must be very disappointing to know that the sample was contaminated

That is so fascinating! Thanks for sharing. I wish the amino acids originated on the planet but I guess that is too much to wish for.
