Why I sometimes don’t wear a remembrance poppy

Yesterday I saw a newspaper article on why someone might not be wearing a poppy, and it included half a dozen reasons such as they are a pacifist. However it didn’t include the most obvious one and something that often happens to me – I forget!
I always buy a poppy or several and then put them down somewhere and can’t find one when I go out. Or I pin one on my coat and then grab a different jacket for the school rush. Or it is warmer than expected and I take my coat off, or colder than expected and I put a coat on covering up the poppy but I simply don’t have the chance to stand on the pavement re-pinning the poppy to some other garment.
I suppose I could just pin one onto each coat, jacket or cardigan I might wear in case I have to run the gauntlet of disapproving glances from the ‘poppy fascists’!

All of these things have happened to me! And even if I leave the house with one, they fall off. I collect lost ones to replace my lost ones. lol I save as many as I find for next year and, as you suggest, put them on every jacket. I still make sure to make a donation even if I have several poppies on hand.
