gingerbread man, sitting on my cup

United Kingdom

I'm currently enjoying a Gingerbread & Cream latte in Costa, with fifteen minutes to kill. A Christmas Robin graces my 'to take-away' cup and the gingerbread man who was precariously sitting on top is now sitting comfortably in my belly. This is now my weekly treat, as lunch will be too when MiL makes me eat a plateful of carbs and saturates. I'm not in the mood for people-watching this morning. I can't help but overhear the three witches at a nearby table though. Apparently the Sainsbury's Christmas advert is better than the John Lewis one. How is this possible?! Are John Lewis losing touch with reality? Well, yes, but that's another post for another day, maybe. I must watch the Sainsbury's advert otherwise I won't be able to join in stimulating and difficult small-talk. I feel very small right now. I imagine it has something to do with the ginormously cosy chair I've plonked myself into. I could cover myself with a furry throw and hide all day. Instead I have to go and catch another bus to another village to spend the day chasing Baby Niece. I am most tempted to just stay here though ... *sigh*

Sometimes it is impossible not to overheard other people conversation. I would have also stayed inside all the day today.

If people are talking loud enough I believe they must be giving me permission to listen!

@Poppylicious This is what I think, if someone wants to keep a conversation personally, it's better to lower the tone of the voice.

@Poppylicious That must apply to half the population these days, whether on mobiles or talking to friends... when did the world become so loud?

Well, it did ensure I went and watched the Sainsbury's advert but I didn't like it. I prefer the John Lewis one, even though I don't understand it! It may have something to do with the fact I watched the Sainsbury's one with no audio!
