Leaves in the wind make me feel guilty

On my front lawn there are five large trees. Five large trees with lots and lots of leaves. And those leaves don't fall all at once - each one drifts to the ground in its own good time. What that means is that no matter how often I remove leaves from the lawn, within a day they seem to be knee deep once again. Then the wind blows, as it did today. Now my leaves have become neighborhood property as the wind distributes them all around, especially to those yards that don't have their own trees. I can imagine how galling it must be to some of my neighbors to have to deal with leaves from trees whose shade they never get to enjoy. That's why I feel guilty when the wind distributes my bounty of leaves to the whole neighborhood.

I love autumn, even with all the leaves. Your post made me smile!

@valmnz - Val, if they made you smile, all those leaves are worth it!

We all have leaves out here, so it's share and share alike, no one bothers to rake

Now, that's the kind of neighborhood I'd like to live in!

I wish we had this problem here in CA. I miss the falling leaves of Autumn. Our seasons are strange here.

We don't have deciduous trees near the house which is a good thing. I don't think I'd be very good at raking leaves. Actually I think they look pretty on the ground.

LOL Ron!, it's a first world problem, and a universal one, but you're very considerate of your neighbours! The main concern I would have is of leaves sticking to pavements/sidewalks and creating a hazard for senior citizens.

Yes, but think of what would happen if you raked them up. No passing kids could play in the leaves. So you'd best leave them where they are. Or rake them into a pile for the kids to jump in. And dont feel guilty. Your neighbours have someone who is sharing his possessions :-)
