Judy Evans They possibly saw Australia as a land of opportunity and sunshine. There may not have been much in the way of jobs for them in England. Perhaps 42 years ago, you were more adventurous or at least you were seen by others as adventurous.

Judy Evans @FourWalls In the indigenous communities where it's banned, alcohol caused huge problems when it was available so I understand the need and reasoning. Elsewhere in Australia, they'd be speechless if you tried to stop their alcohol!!
