Is Ciao going down the same path as Dooyoo ?

I used to write on Dooyoo and after their launch last year they slowly declined into oblivion and then closed their doors last week with £16 of my money in their pockets. Then this week suprise suprise now their is no competition for them Ciao has decided not to pay bonuses anymore and have stopped paying premium find for a lot of categories. This will dramatically reduce the earning potential for a lot of the reviews on there. Basically the only way to earn more than 50pish per review is to win a competition. This is fine for the top 10 writers on their who are great but all the really good reviewers who fall below them don't really have any chance of making much money. I think people will get fed up and stop using the site which is a real shame as I love the site and it has been a favourite of mine for some years now. I'm going to carry on regardless because I do enjoy writing reviews and there is a good community over their but I'm not going to lie I would jump ship if a better opportunity would emerge. I lost all my reviews from Dooyoo and my posts from Bubblews but I have backed up my ciao reviews now so I don't lose them too if it does end. Do you think the end is coming for Ciao, if so how long do you think it has. I will give it a year if they don't revert back to the old system or change to something new with better earning potential.

I have never heard of neither of those sites. So, I have no opinion on that. As for Bubblews, they screwed us all. Like usual I should say. I am currently writing here and Persona Paper. That's it. Occasionally I write on a site called BlogJob. But I have my reservations there.

@shellyjaneo No it didn't. They just closed it like that. No warning, nothing. But that fits their lack of interest in the site all that time.

Who knows how much longer this Ciao will last.... That they've revised the categories for which some payments are offered is not surprising. I wonder if they'll ever change the Community Point thresholds needed to move from one dot colour to the next...?

They will probably leave the community points the same as they don't affect people's earnings but it does seem like it is trying to reduce how much people can earn which won't be good for it in the long term. It's not like you could make mega bucks on it anyway x

@shellyjaneo True - but with a few targetted reviews, you could clear a fiver in a month with marginal effort.

@pgntwo Yeah I will have to just spend a lot of time writing a few awesome reviews and hope for the best x

I have signed up on so many sites and not pursued them. I am more inclined toward sites like myLot and Bubblews, but I have seen at least five others go down the tubes. I believe Ciao is one I signed up for and never did anything. It seems like our options get fewer and fewer.
