I wonder what names he would have given to his characters? Maybe "Romeo and Juliet" would have been "Damian and Trixibelle"! I'm not so sure that "Wayne, Prince of Denmark" would have caught on. But how about "Jermaine, the Moor of Venice"?

Didn't they recently do a modern-day television dramatisation of Macbeth set in a small Scottish village? Oh hang on! That was Hamish Macbeth? As you were! Good post by the way. Brilliant concept!!

I do not know, but I prefer the original names he gave. About the moor of Venice, as he is Italian I do not see Jermaine as a contemporary name.

Jermaine is a good modern "black" name, if not noticeably Moorish.
