I am curious which language do you think it is the most difficult in the world? I personally think it is Chinese. As many words have the same pronunciation and how to write it correctly is a headache for foreigners. There is a joke about our language. You can not say to someone that he is a "thing", but you also can't say to him that he is a "thing". Both of them are bad. It is the frustrating usage for some words.

I live in the United States, and many foreigners say that English is a hard language to learn, but everyone agrees that Chinese is one of the hardest languages in the world to learn.

@moffittjc English is not a hard language to learn. My native language is Italian, it was harder to learn French and I am still in the process of learning German, very hard for me.

@youless Yup Ireland have their own language and it is dying because English is easier to learn. They try saving it by teaching it to school but they struggle to learn it. This is Lady Gaga's songs in Irish: Bad Romance - Lady Gaga(As Gaeilge) With lyrics - YouTube
irish song gaeilge - Rah rah ah-ah-ah! Roma roma-mah! Ga-ga ooh la-la! Ag iarraidh grá... ! (x2) ...Níl aon rud fágtha i mo cheann! (oh oh oh oh!), Ag canadh...

@CaptAlbertWhisker I have been to Russia and I agree that it is hard for me to recognize Russian words. And the words are very long, too

Japanese is actually easy, The only thing that makes it hard is the fact you will need to learn how to read and write their Kanji alphabet. Finnish, Russian and Irish are harder.

Maybe Chinese and Japanese. I'm learning Korean language, since I watch K-dramas often, it's not that hard for me.

Actually I don't know that there are more than 50000 Chinese characters. I think usually it is OK for you to know about 1000 words.
