My First EKG...

...at least, that I can ever remember having.
I was feeling (and I do now and again) a pressure in my chest that I really wanted to know where it came from.
So, after asking a couple of neighbors for a ride, I went to the Health Center where I had the EKG done.
Everything was normal, my blood pressure, my heart rate, all of that. It more than likely had to do with the anxiety problem that I have, which I already take two medications for. The nurse suggested that I might have a problem with acid reflux, too, and prescribed me a med for that.
I have this pressure in my chest thing every now and again, and I was just wondering what on earth it was. Glad it wasn't my heart, anyway.

Better to get it checked out then be sorry. Fantastic to get a positive answer.

I was thniking along those lines, too, @sallypup . That weird pressure in my chest comes and goes, and while I still don't exactly know "what" causes it, at least it's not my heart.

@xstitcher At times I get weird burbles in my chest. Not fun. The brother closest to me suddenly passed on of heart failure and he was 43 at the time. When my doc found out, she made the nurse do an EKG on me. The news freaked her out.

@sallypup The nurse asked if I had any history of heart failure/problems in my family, but to the best of my knowledge I don't.

Well glad it's not your heart but she's right it could be acid reflux. I have that and I get pressure in the heart alot too and i burp up alot as well. I hate it.

Well, @Blondie2222 it only comes around "that time of the month." The pressure seems to be gone now--not sure if it's from taking the antacid or not.

Prozac and something else. They have very similar names: Fluoxetine and Fluvoxamine, but I can never remember which is which. ;p
