One of my favorite things in the world to do is cross stitching. As I have not done any lately I am starting to really miss it. Usually I start about this time designing patterns and kits for next years holidays. I haven't even thought about it until today. I need to buckle down and get busy. I think I will start with a saying or two. They are easy to do and go quickly. Next year I would like to combine images with the sayings. I can't wait to get started. here are not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do. Do you have a hobby, other than writing, that you make money doing?

It's sad when that happens. I used to do cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting etc but when I moved away from where I used to live, I don't know where to get the materials. Now, I discovered there are websites that sell such materials. You should go online to look for the materials for your craftwork.

I used to do a lot of crochet work and sold it in craft shops. I don't do much nowadays though.

@HazySue It is hard to know what to make that people might buy though.

@JudyEv it is hard to know sometimes. With crocheting I found it depends on the area. Down here lap blankets go pretty good for senior citizens. Up north I found that anything for children seemed to be popular buys. As for cross stitch, anything personal, family or friend related, or pet related seemed to sell best.

I don't make money from my craftwork because I take such a long time on each project that it's just not profitable.

@HazySue It is no wonder that the craftworks that are sold on Etsy can be quite expensive.

@UmiNoor e thing is, when you try to add time to the cost of making something by hand many times you cannot charge the total cost of the product. You have to forget about some of the time you spent making it.

@UmiNoor it is true, you don't make the money to pay for your time.
