The holidays and you

Here in America we are just days away from Thanksgiving. A holiday that is meant to bring families closer, yet many people work on this day of thanks.
Companies think only about the profit of which they can make off you and your loved ones, which can in-turn causes great stress.
This stress can make one feel less worthy of love. Unable to say no to a job, families are strained. This often brings about low self esteem, self reflection and one ponders whether they truly have a handle on a good work/life balance.
Know that it's okay to feel these things. Life isn't always what we imagined it would be. By accepting the challenges and restrictions of one's job, family members should be more understanding and compassionate toward those who must be away.
As long as you are doing all you can to show loved ones you care, don't be to hard on yourself, after all it is your job. It's not that you want to be there over spending time with your family but a requirement. Be sure to tell loved ones you will miss them and hope they have a wonderful time. Throw in,"Save me a piece of the dark meat" and all will be fine.
However, if life has taken a turn where you're more comfortable at the office than at home with loved ones, now is the time to do some self reflecting and communicating openly about how you feel.
It might just be a matter that your job is so demanding you don't know how to say no. After all it's what you're good at and you get praised for a job well done, others look up to you and look to you for advice.
It might even be a matter of money. This puts great stress on families especially during the holidays.
Do you know someone who might have to work this holiday? How do you feel about it? Better yet, do you know how it makes them feel to have too work? We offend think about our own feelings during the holidays.
I hope you found this article hopeful and maybe even uplifting during this time of year. Be sure to wear a warm smile and keep love in your hearts. Because, that's what really matters.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the members and staff here on myLot
Wendy

It can be quite difficult for some families. Every time I hear about a company closing I think about all the people out of work.

Thanks so much Wendy and the same to you and yours.
Our holidays are always simple and I feel for anyone that has to work them.
I never did as my business was not open on those holidays.

That plus, New Year's Eve. We actually celebrate all three. No better way to take the dull drums away than with family fun.

Thank you @Tracyjayne I love Thanksgiving. We make a lot of food and well, we pretty much get up eating and eat the whole day. Everyone in my home helps with making the food, setting the table. Their's lots of conversation, games, movies, music. I very much enjoy staying home for the holidays. Hopefully, I'll be reading all about your Christmas day.
