I guess most of us are not aware that the little dot called period has several uses aside to end a sentence. You may laugh and say: "Julito, give us a break, man!" But I am not kidding. Let me enumerate the uses of that tiny dot called period.
USES of Period as a mark:
1. Use a period at the end of a complete sentence.
Example: Honey, I love and cherish you from the bottom of my heart.
2. Use a period as a decimal point for money.
Example: $69.96
3. Use a period after people's initials.
Example: Mr. & Mrs. A.P. Jackass
4. Use period in abbreviations.
Examples: Months - Jan., Dec., Feb.,
Days - Mon., Tues., Sat.,
Titles - Dr., Atty., Mr., Mrs.
Countries - U.S.A. and U.K.
USES of period as a word:
1. The word period is usually used in an argument between husband and wife: Example - "That's enough, period!", my wife yelled. So, I stopped talking.
2. The word period is used when you don't want to say the actual word. Example: "I am not feeling well; it's my period!", the lady said.
So far, these are the only uses of that little dot called period that I know. If you know its other uses, kindly share them to us. Thank you!
(Note: the above drawing is my creation.)

Yes we could say period clothing such as the Victorian era or any other era, or such as period furniture like antiques such as the following definition:
Learning to separate the wheat from the chaff can lead to earning a big paycheck when you cash in on antique furniture finds.

@TiarasOceanView O, those period antique furnitures are expensive. I guess I should go around the city looking for one in yard sales. We never know . . some people may own them and want to discard them for few bucks. Then I will sell them thru amazon for big bucks.

At least you are honest with that .
As to that , i think as we grow older , we consider ourselves if we have been too tired at work .

LOL . . . I got no choice, @SIMPLYD . . . I have to be a Yes, Honey most of the time coz you, ladies, would make us crazy when you start saying - - "Honey, not tonight, I got a terrible headache . . !"
But from time to time I am also a "No, honey!" That is when I am not in the mood! . . .

@KnehKnah . . Why argue, my friend?!
. . . I am sure you heard some of your friends (those hotheaded) yelled to their husbands - - "That's it . . stop it . . no more argument . . PERIOD!" And maybe you may have heard one or two of them told this white lie to their husbands - - "O, nooo! Honey,it is my period!"

You forgot the use of a period as an interval of time. Like the period of time I'll be waiting for you to wake up with an exclamation point!

. . Now I am 100% sure that you teach English. No wonder why you are an excellent writer. Okay, let me find where I filed my exclamation point . . .I mean my article about exclamation point.
In the meantime, let me see your other side . . Read another true story that may not make you laugh or even smile. . . but - -1 person likes this

It is amazing to note that there are many ways how to use the period. I specifically like the two examples when used in sentences.

Ops, I am sorry but I have to disagree with your "full stop". . Stop means stop. Not moving even a bit. So, I believe there is no such thing as full stop. If it is not stopping fully, it is just slowing down.

@antonbunot It is the job of the comma to slow things down, don't you think?

@pgntwo O, yeah, a comma reminds you and me to slow down because we are speed-reading and the audience don't understand anything
. . . by the way, I am trying to assemble the uses of a comma, too!

I like your heart-warming and perfect illustration of the mighty punctuation mark named period. Congratulations for showing your talent in pressing the pen on sheet of red paper, brother.
