Get ready, get set - GO!

I will be here for a while reading and interacting but I do have some thing to take care of today. * Wednesday is the day my article is due for my friend's bog - I have it written I just need to proof it and find appropriate photos. * I plan to make my cranberry sauce today so it will have enough time to set up nicely. * My husband and I will put the light on the porch once it warms up outside (maybe after lunch). * We will also get the Christmas tree and associated decorations from the basement. * If I still have any energy (or desire) after that I might make chocolate chip cookies for my husband...and of course I'll have to try one or two to make sure they are good! * I have some laundry that can be done in-between those other chores. The sun is up, the sky is clear and it looks to be a nice day in my neck of the woods. Photo is mine from Christmas 2014

Though I am not a Christian, I really really love seeing Christmas trees. I love Christmas cards too. The colors. :) Those are what fantasies are made of. :)

Many non Christians love to look at Christmas trees, so you aren't alone in that!

@AbbyGreenhill ....Do you all buy a tree every time, or do you all use plastic one? Out here, people use casuarina trees which look good only for the day. But we don't get the kind of trees you all get na..

@vandana7 It's a fake tree but not plastic. Up close and personal it looks like a real tree.

I will be decorating this weekend for christmas. I always do on Thanksgiving weekend. My kids will be here and they will help me. I am not going crazy this year though. I decided to not put the entire tree up either. It is getting to be too much. So, I will only use half the tree. And even that is quite large. And some lights. Nothing crazy like I used to do. And besides, my kids will not be with me on christmas. They will be with me after and for the new year. So going crazy with decorations makes no sense.

Even when I was divorced for 16 years I decorated like crazy. I love it. My husband loves Christmas trees - it turns out we both had our own tree, besides the family tree, when we were kids. It is sitting in the corner and pre lit so easy peasy.

@AbbyGreenhill I did so much years ago. I went all out. As a matter of fact, it used to take me about a week to complete the decorating. I had a 9 foot tree and I build an entire village underneath. Complete with snow and roads and people and cars. It was awesome. I cannot do that now. I told my son and daughter that one day they will get all my village pieces. I have a good amount of Dickens Village pieces.

I am planning to buy a Christmas tree this weekend or later. Here at my parents' house, although they are Christian, my mom does not set up a Christmas tree. Now, that my baby and I are temporarily staying here, I want to have a bit of Christmas spirit since it is my baby's first Christmas ever.
