Real trees or fakes?

This Christmas would you have a real tree or a artificial one?
When we were kids we always had those real pine trees in our home. People used to grow them just for Christmas.. now they neither have space nor the interest to grow real trees any more.
We have been using a fake tree now for years. I wish we could get a real one just this Christmas.. It would probably stir up a few hundred memories of childhood and the smell could possibly trigger off a few other traditions too.
Last weekend when I went to the market I found some gypsies selling bamboo frames for stars. We used to make these as children with the help of our parents.. We would cover them with colored paper and light it up with a bulb. The very sight of these bamboo star frame was enough to bring back a few memories of Christmas and the traditions that went with the celebrations at home.
Would you have a fake tree or a real tree this Christmas? Do you decorate for Christmas as a family or just do it by yourself?

I grew up with a fake one and loved it - ha ha! Hubby grew up with real ones - he really loves the scent as they bring back childhood memories too. Well, Hubby and I always had our little fake trees strewn around the small apartments we lived in - that's all the room we really had. Then when we moved to this house, Hubby finally wanted to get a real one . . . he did . . . but it was way too big and a bit messy in the end - oh but he got his lovely smelling tree - ha ha! Now we've settled for a medium fake one - it's just big enough that the kids could decorate the tree all by themselves. And then I do up the rest of the house. Oh my, looks like this will be happening soon!!

When we still are residing in the old house , me , my husband , our kid and nanny , i always put up a Christmas tree with the help of the nanny . But it was an artificial tree bought from the mall.
But when we transferred to my in-laws house , i got lazy putting up the Christmas tree already . Besides my gay brother-in-law is the one doing the decorations for the house .

We always had real trees at Christmas when I was growing up.
When my daughter was small (I think she was five or six the last time I did this.) I always potted a pine tree that we decorated at Christmas. After Christmas was over we planted the tree in our yard so we could keep the memories and make new ones with those trees.
We quit buying real trees the year we sold that property. I didn't want to let those trees go, but they wouldn't have survived being moved again.
Now that Pretty is grown, I use a tree about five inches high. It runs on a battery that lasts three days. Since she prefers to buy her gifts on the day after Christmas, I normally wrap one small item and put that under the tree so she has something to unwrap on Christmas morning.
Yes, I know this sounds weird. Everyone has their own way of doing things. Not every way is right for everyone, @sofssu !

@DaddyEvil There is nothing right or wrong.. it how life has evolved and what is comfortable for us. I was just hoping to bring back the memories real trees carry for me.

@sofssu If you are interested, sofs, I could tell you a story about what happened when my youngest brother and I heard mom saying we were going to trim the tree once?

@epiffanie Do you not celebrate Christmas or you don't decorate your home? Any particular reason if I may ask?

When I was growing up, we always had a live tree until I was older when my parents started buying fake trees. I love having a live tree and would probably have one if we could but where we live, we can't have live trees because of the possibility of fires.

@sueznewz2 This is for sure.. there is less mess and less to do after Christmas.. juts pack them up only to take them out next year. I personally wouldn't even thin k of having a tree if I had n o one to help.

How I wish to have a real Christmas tree too, but we don't have them in our city. But, oh yes, my sister & I used to wrap a star made from bamboo materials. We always enjoyed doing it & putting a space in between where we put either a penlight or a candle, to light it. It makes us enjoy the Season simply but more!

A fake one, I am not spending any money for Christmas tree or decorations this year. I have reused mine for years.

I'm single, so I don't really decorate much at all. I live in a smaller house, so I don't get a tree. I typical get lights and use them to draw a tree on my wall. It looks really neat if you have ever seen this on Pinterest. Although I would love a real tree. The smell alone is just amazing

on your face. I am always right sort of thingy.. Just kidding thanks for the laughs.. Yup things can get really messy if you don't get the size of the real tree right.
Ha ha! Maybe I just need to get some Christmas tree scented spray for our fake tree - then we will have the right sized perfect compromise
