I was resting a bit by playing free cell with mylot open in another window when the game and mylot went elsewhere and the full screen had the most beautiful formal dresses I have seen. The name of the site is Shopstyle and it is really style in clothes. I continued to browse it. I suppose there are people who work at making those sites absolutly attractive. So I went to shop for a dress. The cheapest garment costed $2000 each. As I smiled at this alien world, I took a mental look at my own wardrobe. I have some dresses for 25 years. I have some hand knitted wool sweaters that I used when I was young. Those were the days of Many Quant and her mini skirt. I sewed my own imitations then and knitted the sweaters. I also made papier mache earrings with red, white and blue daisies. The Beatles were changing the concept of music while I painted my crafts hoping that we would be able to change the world. Anyone here with my memories?

My anxiety is. most of my clothes of bygone days look as good as new. I cannot possibly donate them as those in need of donation will not wear the type of clothes I wear. So much for memories (lol)

There are some clothes I have that noone would wear. But after a while you can be as excentric as you wish so I often wear ethnic clothes from other lands to parties. They are beautiful.

@allknowing Sometimes we leave a garment for a couple of years and after a while you love them again.

I still have a beautiful formal dress from the old days. Not even my granddaughter can get into it. I look at it once in a while.

@LadyDuck I´d love to put on that awesome mini dress my mom made for me decades ago. Of course it would be ridiculous to wear it in public, but I´d love to see that it fitted me (which it doesn´t).

@marguicha My niece is taller and I was thinner, so nobody can wear my old dresses and I do not wear them at my age, it would be ridiculous.

I remember the era that you refer to, but believe it is more like 35 years ago.

It was the 60s. More like 45 years ago. But I do not have clothes that old as they would not fit me. Still, I have some clothes that are 25 years old and miss some that would still fit if I had kept them. There was the time of Demis Roussa and his caftans. I got one.

@marguicha You cannot possibly claim that a Demis Roussos caftan would not fir you these days. You could probably use it as a car cover.

@Asylum I didn´t say that. I made an awesome caftan for me. It was my size. But still, I think it could fit me now if I still had it.

sounds beautiful but I don't recall such memories. I think I might haven't had exist yet that time. I have some clothes that I still keep thought even though it is hmm I think it is 10 years old already but it is so much comfortable and nice to my skin so I don't have the heart to throw it away. not for show but at home comfy. I do think though that vintage style is beautiful.

I favour in part just comfy clothes that are never in or out and some special clothes that I have bought elsewhere as etnic clothes. I use those sometimes for parties.
